What is your family breathing? The Environmental Protection Agency has ranked poor indoor air pollution among the top 5 risks for public health multiple years in a row. Without even knowing, your air duct system could be contaminated with particulates that are harmful for you and your family to breathe. Each time your heating and cooling system turns on, it can circulate dust, dust mites, animal dander, pollen and bacteria throughout the air inside your home.

IAQ facts:

  • The EPA has ranked indoor air quality as one of the top 5 environmental risks to public health.

  • More than 50 million Americans suffer from allergies. According to Total Health and Better Health magazine, 1 out of 4 people who suffer from allergies, do so, due to the fungi and bacteria in the air duct system.

  • Indoor air is 2-5 times worse than outdoor air.

The Duct Cleaning Process

1

Preparation

To begin, we preform a site inspection to create a cleaning game plan. We will then turn your air system off for the cleaning process. Next, we will lay down a dropcloth in our work area to ensure we are catching any particulates that may come through. Then we will run our camera through your ducts to show our customers what is deep inside. After that we remove all registers to clean them as well as the boot area.

2

Cleaning

For the cleaning process we use the brush and vacuum method, which will scrub your duct work while simultaneously  vacuuming up debris.  We start with your supply ducts that are farthest from the air handler, then will work progressively through the air ducts back towards the air handler. Next, we move onto the return ducts, which entails the same process as with the supply ducts. Lastly, we will deep source clean your air handler and remove any contaminants within the system.

3

Fogging

We finish up the process by fogging the system. To do this, we use EnviroCON, an antimicrobial fungistat and deodorizer. Next, we will turn your system fan on and will work the fogger through each return duct to ensure your system is properly sanitized. We will then run our camera through your duct system to show you the before and after. Seeing is believing!
